Joshua 1:8-9 (NIV)
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
When we find ourselves facing a decision, especially a big decision, what should we do? We are advised to PRAY for guidance. This is certainly good advice but should be accompanied by other ACTIONS - additional actions we can take. This is good news for those that need to be active and feel like they are "doing their part."
Five (5) things to do when facing a decision:
Prepare yourself Spiritually - CONFESS (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faith and just...
Prepare yourself Physically - FAST ((Joel 2:12) "Even now," declares the Lord, "Return to me with all your heart, with fasting..."
Prepare yourself Mentally - MEDITATE on Scripture (Psalm 119:105) Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Approach God - ASK WISELY (1 John 5:14) ...Confidence we have in approaching God...
Finally, and often the most difficult part - BE PATIENT - WAIT (Isaiah 64.4)...God...acts on behalf of those who wait for Him
